Why we do what we do

Why we do what we do

Jill has a passion for serving people with her knowledge and expertise in keeping people as independent as possible for as long as possible. Creating this environment is not as hard as it sounds. Jill creates practical and simple ways to keep people independent. She has the heart of a caregiver and understands the pressure of “getting everything right” for the person. Her why for building this program is to keep people moving their bodies and retraining their brains while having fun and being silly.

Life is hard enough.

Keep it silly.

Laugh at the situation.

Who we are!

Jill was a caregiver for both of her parents for over 20 years while working a full time job and running a small business. She has spent many hours in hospitals and rehab facilities while helping her parents through numerous surgeries and illnesses. She has the expertise and first hand knowledge for almost anything related to Parkinson’s, dementia, congestive heart failure and kidney failure. Jill's father had Parkinson's and she did everything she could to keep him moving until she lost him in 2020. She lost her mother two years later to congestive heart failure so she understands and has the experience to assist throughout the process of palliative and hospice care.

She has the following certifications:

Rock Steady Boxing coach Nutritionist (ISSA)

On The Move Alzheimer’s specialist (ISSA)

Parkinson’s specialist (ISSA) Senior Fitness (ISSA)

Bingocize Gerifit

What do we do?

Jill uses what she learns about her clients and their tastes to create individualized activities and programs that are FUN and ENGAGING. Sometimes Jill will have a plan in place but can shift quickly if the client needs something else that day. She also works directly with care givers and providers to take home ideas to help throughout the week after their time in the center. Pieces of Hope works their bodies by having fun with strength training, non- contact boxing, fine motor, and any other need that they might have. She will individualize as much as possible even in a small group setting.
